Privacy Policy

Little Voices ("the app," "we," "us") is built so that your family's data stays yours. This policy explains what the app does and does not do with information.
The short version
We do not collect, store, transmit, sell, or have any access to your data. Everything you create in Little Voices — recordings, transcripts, your child's name, and your reflections — is stored on your device. If you choose to back up or to share the journal with your partner, it is also stored in your own iCloud account through Apple, never on our servers. We never have access to any of it.
Information we collect
None. Little Voices has no servers, no analytics, no accounts, and no third-party tracking SDKs. We cannot see your content because it never reaches us.
How your content is handled
- Recordings & transcripts are saved locally on your device.
- Transcription is performed on-device by Apple's built-in speech recognition. Audio is not sent to us or to any third-party transcription service.
- iCloud backup is optional and off unless you turn it on. When it's on, the app saves a daily backup (transcripts and recordings) to your own iCloud Drive, in a "Little Voices" folder. It's stored by Apple under your Apple ID and governed by Apple's privacy policy. We never receive it. You can turn it off anytime in the app's Settings.
- Sharing with your partner is optional and off until you invite someone. It stores the journal (children's names, answers, transcripts, recordings and notes) in your iCloud through Apple's CloudKit, and makes it available only to the Apple Account you invite. It travels between your devices and Apple, never through us, and is governed by Apple's privacy policy. You can stop sharing at any time in the app's Settings; the journal is then removed from your partner's device after they're offered a backup. Your partner can also leave at any time.
- Backups you choose to export yourself are saved to a location you control (e.g. Files). We never receive them.
Payments
Little Voices is free and has no in-app purchases, so no payment information is ever involved.
Children's privacy
Little Voices is intended for use by a parent or guardian. Content about a child is created and kept by that adult on their own device; we never collect or process any personal information from children or anyone else.
Your control
You can delete any entry, or all data, at any time from within the app or by deleting the app. In a shared journal, deleting something removes it from both iPhones. Because we hold nothing, there is nothing for you to request from us.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the "last updated" date.
